FAQ
Locations are scored by a variety of weather, tidal, and solar factors, with varying weights and favorability to fishing. Amplifying insights in regards to fish presence due to water temperature are provided on every report, as well as other helpful information (sunrise, sunset, tidal, temperature...etc).
Not quite. An "A+" or high 90% range in Dauphin Island, AL, could potentially only be a "C" or in the 70% range for say, the Florida Keys (Marathon or Key West, as the current available options), or vice-versa, but you could still find greater success in the Keys, due to the variety of species present. Each location's fish species listed are designed for that location, alone, and those particular species frequency forecast is annotated at the beginning of every fishing report for that particular day and its associated water temperature data.
The weather, environmental, and tidal data is all sourced from the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Weather Service (NWS) to ensure you have the most accurate insights into your fishing adventure. Solar data is sourced from pre-set databases within our scoring algorithm.
As reviews have shown, the results from The Reel Times are very insightful for all types of fishermen. There is no other product which provides the fine-tuned detail which The Reel Times does for your specific area, with hour-by-hour information and scoring.
That acknowledged, the day-to-day results will vary with the factors which are scored. If the forecast, temperatures, tides, and other scoring variables do not vary much from hour-to-hour, a "breakout" hour to go fishing will be more difficult to identify. However; these "breakout" hours often appear. You may have an "A+" score at two in the morning for a specific location at a specific time if the weather, tides, forecast, and all other variables are ideal, and a "C+" at another more "common" daytime hour when other fishermen will likely be out. The variance changes, day-by-day, hour-by-hour. And it will not be recognized unless The Reel Times finds that ideal hour for you.
